We have recently learned that the state mandate to postpone all elective dental procedures ends on 4/19, which is a Sunday, and we would be returning 4/20 Monday at 9 AM. This is a surprise to us, but given the situation, we understand this decision made by the New York State Department of Health. If you have an appointment scheduled from now until 4/19, rest assured, our staff will be reaching out to you about a week before your appointment to reschedule you. We are not rescheduling everyone all at once just in case if the situation gets better, and they move the mandate end date earlier.
During this period of mandated closure, we are still taking emergency calls and performing emergency procedures as allowed by the mandate. An emergency is classified as severe pain, swelling, or infection. When we see an emergency patient, we have to prove it’s an emergency with evidence such as x-rays and/or intra-oral pictures, so that we do not break the law.
Fortunately, there are multiple ways to reach us with the help of technology. You can call our office number and leave a voicemail, text our office number, or email us. Our front desk staff are checking these messages daily and will get back to you as soon as possible.
We want everyone to know that we take this outbreak very seriously and have been following all mandates and recommendations made by state authorities and dental associations. We have donated around 1,000 masks and 8,000 gloves to the local hospitals. We came into the office multiple times to treat emergencies. We have been planning out our finances very carefully to survive the mandated closure without business income. We are asking for your patience and cooperation with communication and scheduling. We will get through this together.
